As Canadians we know our sports and entertainment heroes. But what about those in tourism? Who, exactly, is contributing to Alberta's fourth largest industry? Who's behind the controls - who's making a difference? The search and consequent celebration of those tourism "heroes" is what the Alto Awards program achieves. The Alto Awards recognize individuals and organizations committed to enriching Alberta's tourism industry and who by their actions inspire others and demonstrate what can be achieved by working together.
2013 ALTO Ambassador Nominations now open
The Alto Ambassador Award, selected by the Alto Committee, and endorsed by the Strategic Tourism Marketing Council, recognizes an exceptional Albertan who has made an outstanding contribution to the provincial tourism industry. This individual is a role model who has consistently demonstrated leadership throughout his or her career.

The Alto Ambassador recipient will be announced in advance of the 2013 Travel Alberta Industry Conference.
The Alto Awards will be presented at the 13th Annual Alto Awards Gala, October 28, 2013, in conjunction with the Tourism Industry Conference, October 27-29, 2013 in Banff.
