Tourism, Parks and Recreation Minister Dr. Richard Starke was in attendance at the Road Show in Vermilion on May 3. He spoke about the importance of tourism to the community and outlined how the Ministry’s mandate and programs connect to Travel Alberta’s mandate and marketing plans.
Travel Alberta has organized these annual Road Shows throughout the province since 1999. They provide a valuable opportunity for Travel Alberta and Alberta Tourism, Parks and Recreation to connect face-to-face with industry operators, consortia groups, Destination Marketing Organizations and local municipal representatives in their own community. The Road Shows also provide local Destination Marketing Organizations a chance to present to the operators and municipalities in their area.
These Road Shows are a great example of how Travel Alberta is working together with Alberta Tourism, Parks and Recreation and Alberta’s tourism operators as TEAM ALBERTA to grow tourism revenues.
