Alberta’s food scene on display in March!
Calgary and Edmonton’s inspired cuisine and ethnic, eclectic dining experiences will be on display in March with two high profile events – Big Taste Calgary and Edmonton Downtown Dining Week. Alberta foodies will definitely get their fill in March with these two events where talented chefs from participating restaurants showcase their culinary skills and serve up special set-course menus at special prices
The Big Taste, Calgary's Dining Festival, runs from March 1 to March 10. Edmonton's Downtown Dining Week is March 15 - 24.
Alberta is earning a reputation on the international stage for fine dining and serving inspired, down-to-earth, comforting prairie food – with a twist on the traditional. Alberta’s eclectic restaurant scene is growing organically – unique places where passionate chefs turn out everything from world class pastries to perfect pasta. Top chefs are ditching white tablecloths for lively, crowded, casual eateries and opening “second label” spots – suburban diners, trattorias, bistros and funky food trucks. Creative, chef-driven concepts are grounded in local traditions and fresh Alberta ingredients are the order of the day. A strong network of farmers’ markets and community gardens in Alberta means a real commitment to home-style, farm-fresh artisan food.
