The ideal applicant will have:

  • Post-secondary degree in Commerce, specifically marketing, communications, public relations, event management or advertising;
  • 1-2 years’ experience in an administrative or coordinator role;
  • Ability to write and communicate effectively;
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Project management skills, demonstrated ability to multi-task and set priorities;
  • Continually drive for results and highest quality standards;
  • Superior organizational and time management skills with a strong attention to detail;
  • Ability to design and deliver presentations;
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint;
  • Previous budget management experience is considered an asset;
  • Previous event, media and branded social media coordination is considered an asset;
  • Strong customer service focus with the proven ability to maintain and manage positive relationships; 
  • Superior communication skills across audiences and formats (written and verbal); with ability to effectively present ideas and information to membership and team;
  • Ability to interpret and effectively manage multiple and competing priorities and time lines while delivering results;
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure;
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of social media;
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership and cross-team collaboration skills.

What you’ll be responsible for:

Administration:

  • Creating and coordination of purchase orders, processing and coding invoices for the Consumer Marketing Team;
  • Weekly maintenance of the consumer marketing budget and reporting to the Sr. Manager and Director any discrepancies;
  • Scheduling internal and external meetings and ensure agendas are developed for each meeting;
  • Developing detailed meeting reports with DMO, PMOs and/or members;
  • Helping facilitate and coordinate influencer events and familiarization tours (FAMs) in destination;
  • Tracking and assembly of ongoing media coverage using the Team’s Media monitoring tool for reporting and KPI’s;
  • Using Simpleview (CRM) on a daily basis to track and report media visits with the organization and Consumer Marketing team;
  • Working with digital, print, and broadcast media to fact-check, provide assets, and coordinate BLLT director/CEO interviews as needed;
  • Assisting the Social Media Manager when required;

Marketing Coordination:

  • Working closely with the Brand Manager, assisting with weekly acquisition of user generated content (UGC) and procuring approvals;
  • Assisting with photo and video asset classification and categorization;
  • Maintaining competitive tracking/reviews providing point of views (POVs) when required;
  • Overseeing the accuracy and quality of all communications components;
  • Developing work back schedules and assisting the team to ensure schedules for content development projects are on track;
  • Under the supervision of the Senior Manager, Consumer Marketing, developing and writing effective creative briefs for the Team’s Agency/Creative Teams where required;
  • Proofing and editing documents where required;
  • Collect research and metrics to support the development of post-campaign/project reports;
  • Managing smaller projects where required;
  • Reviewing website image database naming conventions and credits. Editing names of files to ensure they are easy to find by the team;
  • Attaining a thorough understanding of the tourism industry and the Destination Marketing Organization’s role to contribute to Consumer Marketing Team discussions;
  • Inputting campaign content onto banfflakelouise.com as required.
