Position Profile

Edmonton Economic Development cultivates the energy, innovation and investment needed to build a prosperous and resilient Edmonton economy. Our dedicated Edmonton Tourism Division aims to attract tourists, events, meetings and conventions in ways that allow people to experience Edmonton.  The Edmonton Events team is a partnership between Edmonton Tourism and the City of Edmonton tasked with attracting major sport and cultural events.

EEDC staff embody the five cultural values of the organization; “Public Stewardship,” “Making an Impact,” “Selfless Approach,” “Leading the Way” and “Caring for One Another.” We are looking for an Edmonton Events Specialist; a highly detailed and organized administrator who will take these values to heart and inspire everyone they meet, creating an outstanding impression of EEDC to internal and external stakeholders.

The Edmonton Events Specialist is the backbone of the Edmonton Events team, providing superior administration support to the team; being the point of contact for member hotels and other industry members. We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with a professional presence in communications (telephone, email and in person).

Job Details

The Edmonton Events Specialist will be responsible for providing sales support by coordinating and updating the sales database, tracking sales process with clients and hotels, coordinating bid and proposal packages, maintaining sales stats and organizing the logistics of site visits. This individual will support Edmonton Events’ long term strategy by researching potential events and will manage general administration tasks for the team.

The ideal candidate should have strong administration experience working in a fast paced environment, complimented by post-secondary education in administration studies.  The successful candidate will possess the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and timelines with accuracy and precision, as well as be able to work collaboratively within the team and with internal clients. With proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office and database applications, this self- starter will quickly be able to identify and execute processes effectively and efficiently.  Knowledge of Greater Edmonton’s tourism/hospitality industries, bureaus and products will be considered an asset.
