Tourism is a $81 billion dollar industry in Canada, and includes businesses and services that employ over 600,000 people nationally. The industry is a significant driver of our economy, and continues to be an important partner in the growth and prosperity of our communities nationwide. It is within this dynamic context that the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC) is seeking to recruit a new Regional Director - Western Canada.
Based in western Canada, the Regional Director will oversee territory that includes Manitoba to British Columbia, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. He/She will proactively liaise with a broad cross section of industry businesses to increase membership, will help create new business opportunities for existing members and for TIAC, and will engage with key stakeholders in order to ensure new and existing members are well served by the association. An excellent listener and superb communicator, the Director will ensure that western and northern Canada continue to capitalize on their exciting growth and vibrant tourism industry.
As an ideal candidate, you have experience building lasting and constructive partnerships with clients. You are a self-starter and very entrepreneurial. Your aptitude for managing multiple priorities is complimented by your appetitive for researching leads, and reaching out to new clients. You excel when working with a wide variety of stakeholders and diverse groups. You have between 3-5 years' experience in a B2B environment, and your colleagues describe you as a bright and energetic team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
