The Chiu School of Business seeks an experienced and enthusiastic individual with solid industry expertise to share their knowledge in Tourism Marketing and Management. Instructors will be teaching one or more of the following courses face-to-face, real-time online during daytime, evening and/or weekend hours, with a time commitment of 3-18 hours per week depending on instructor availability and area of expertise:

  • Introduction to Global Tourism
  • Sustainable Tourism Management
  • Global Marketing
  • Global Product Development
  • Meetings, Expositions & Conventions

In this role you will: prepare and update course outline and curriculum; create lesson plans; instruct curriculum content, skills, role expectations, knowledge, and employment preparation; monitor student progress and identify areas of concern to refer to the Coordinator; and assign and post grades. Also, you will build relationships with external and internal stakeholders to promote the programs, department and College, keep current with trends in the industry, and participate in recruitment events and community meetings. Your strong communications and interpersonal skills and relevant work history in a related setting will be essential to your success as an instructor. You have an ability to take course theory and apply it to practical experience in a way to benefit your students.

Job Requirements:

  • Certificate in related field required; Diploma or Degree preferred
  • Five years' work experience in the Tourism industry or other related field
  • Computer proficiency, especially knowledge of Windows, MS Word, email systems, and the Internet
  • Good writing skills
  • Curriculum development and industry relationships an asset
  • Experience in adult instruction would be an asset
