Reporting to the Director, Marketing & Communications, the successful applicant will lead the development and execution of media programs that generate traveller demand for Banff Lake Louise Tourism’s market portfolios.

Primary areas of responsibility include:
  • Contributing to the development and execution of the Banff Lake Louise Tourism Annual Strategic Plan and specifically to its content development initiatives
  • Developing relationships with international travel media; print, broadcast, and Internet based for consumer, industry and trade sectors
  • Building relationships with industry partners & Banff Lake Louise Tourism members
  • Compiling a variety of written materials & reports related to the portfolio’s activities
  • Proactively seeking media opportunities for the company and the destination
  • Attending travel media shows; travel will be required for this position

Essential skills:
  • The ability to produce high quality materials, including media releases, editorial materials and strategic planning documents under tight deadlines
  • Solid experience building relationships on behalf of an organization and/or a destination
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving and project management skills
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral
  • A minimum of 3 years related experience working in media relations and/or communications
  • The ideal candidate will have a degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
