REPORTING STRUCTURE: Reports directly to the Board

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
> University or College degree, or a combination of education and experience preferably in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or Business
> Strong written and oral communication skills, excellent organization and project management skills, superior attention to detail
> Ability to work independently or as part of a team either face to face or remotely, excellent judgment, and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
> Highly motivated and adaptable
> Excellent relationship building skills and proven track record of working with and managing relationships with multiple stakeholders.
> Excellent computer skills - MS Office, social media

ASSETS:
> Experience with media buys
> Experience with Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
> Content management for website updates

KEY DUTIES AND ACTIVITIES:

Working to increase year round visitation to Drumheller, this person will develop an annual business and destination marketing plan and also work with local tourism stakeholders to develop and implement marketing opportunities.

ADMINISTRATION:
> Maintain all files, partnerships and contact lists
> Coordinate approved programs, projects, and major activities
> Responsible for the planning and administration of board meetings
> Attend relevant tourism related meetings, both within and outside the region

BUDGETING AND ACCOUNTING:
> Operate within the Travel Drumheller budget, reviewing and monitoring on a monthly basis
> Work with the bookkeeper and auditor to maintain accurate financial records
> Prepare annual operating budget in consultation with the board

MARKETING:
> Coordinate, implement and evaluate a general annual destination marketing campaign for Drumheller
> Develop, implement, and evaluate marketing buy-in opportunities for tourism stakeholders including packaging opportunities
> Initiate, coordinate, and supervise production of promotional literature and publications
> Evaluate outside opportunities such as trade shows and conferences
> Creating awareness of the Travel Drumheller DMO with local stakeholders to increase participation in initiatives.

PUBLIC RELATIONS:
> Plan, coordinate, and conduct public relations programs to enhance public acceptance of the tourism industry in Drumheller
> Develop a rapport with the media, with the view of creating an authoritative and knowledgeable voice for tourism in Drumheller
> Maintain a continuing awareness of tourism trends in Alberta
> Write and distribute press releases and storylines to regional media
> Point of contact for FAM tours of media, writers, press trips
> Annual Drumheller Media Kit development

ONLINE
> Maintain traveldrumheller.com updates
> Develop social media plan and maintain all channels – twitter, facebook, youtube, pinterest
> Monthly newsletter
> Develop and maintain photo and video library

RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS:
> Maintain effective relationships with municipalities and other levels of government as the need arises.
> Liaise with other Tourism Organizations: Travel Alberta, Canadian Badlands, Tourism Calgary, Chinook Country Tourism, etc.
