This is a salaried position offering health benefits and pension program. Salary is to be determined based on experience. The Front Desk staff are usually the first point of contact for guests entering our hotel, and the Front Desk Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all of our guests receive superior service by motivating the team and providing a strong example. The ideal candidate for this role has superior communication and interpersonal skills, excellent attention to detail, and is motivated to lead a small team of staff. Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify the work of hotel front desk clerks
  • Supervise the activities and coordinate the scheduling of the front desk personnel
  • Arrange training and orientation of all new front desk staff
  • Coordination of front desk activities with other departments
  • Enter rooming lists in the computer system
  • Coordinate handling of all tours and tour policies
  • Ensure accurate room counts are kept
  • Submit room forecasting and progress reports
  • Open and close room availability when necessary
  • Effectively handle guest inquiries and complaints
  • Learn procedures and functions of hotel front desk clerks

Qualifications:

  • Minimum grade 12 education
  • One year front desk experience is preferred, or completion of a hospitality program
  • Experience with Resort Data Processing (RDP) software is preferred, or will train
  • Neat in appearance
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Pleasing and outgoing personality
  • Ability to accept and give direction
  • Willingness to learn duties for all hotel front desk clerk positions
  • Ability to work within a team concept
