Tourism Jasper is the Destination Marketing Organization for Jasper and Jasper National Park. We’re a young, energetic, forward thinking team, who are charged with developing and executing on creative solutions to help our Shareholders (select hotels, restaurants, and activities in Jasper) increase revenue through sustainable visitation of targeted consumers to our awesome little town.

Why you’re here:

Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Communications, you provide administrative support and active coordination of the marketing team’s activities and initiatives. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in the evolution of creative and compelling content that increases the destination brand visibility in traditional and digital marketing campaigns. This position works with shareholders and local businesses to manage Tourism Jasper’s online presence through our website and other online channels.     

This is your role:

As the Digital Communications Coordinator, you will:
  • Assist with planning and execution of regional marketing campaigns 
  • Work closely with shareholders and partners to consistently keep the Tourism Jasper website up to date with deals, events and new product and experiences. 
  • Assist in creating new content and pages using a web based Content Management System (CMS) ensuring accuracy and a high level of quality 
  • Oversee technical assets such as domains, hosting plans and micro sites 
  • Coordinate design projects and external suppliers   
  • Provide creative and design support to all departments 
  • Assist in creating compelling social media content- Assist with administrative support to the Marketing & Communications team  
  • Edit and proofread Tourism Jasper communications as required  
  • Monitor and report on website visitation, conversion rates and social media successes    
  • Assist Marketing & Communications team with development of social media best practices documents for Tourism Jasper shareholders, partners and staff.  
  • Manage and maintain consumer and media databases 

You’re armed with:

  • At least 3 years under your belt in a digital role 
  • Experience in SEO content, online writing, social media and content management
  • Intimate knowledge of HTML and working with CMS (Content Management Systems)
  • Understanding of key performance metrics and experience with Google Analytics  
  • Experience in graphic and design tools (Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom)  
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously  
  • Crazy good communication skills

It would be extra awesome if you:

  • Have experience with media & public relations
  • Have experience in videography and/or shooting and editing video projects  
  • Have experience with a DMO Your life at Work:    
  • You’re happy to work in a collaborative environment, where sometimes you have to jump in, regardless of the project  
  • You’re good to work 40 hours per week  
  • You’re able to help out after hours for special meetings or events  
  • You’re ok with some light physical work (mostly bending, reaching, carrying light items, walking and standing)  
  • You like to hit the road sometimes to meet up with like minded people
