Tourism Town Hall Webinar

Register now for the 2017 Tourism Town Hall webinar hosted by Travel Alberta and the Tourism Division. Together we celebrate the kick-off of National Tourism Week (May 29-June 3) with an online presentation and Q&A platform providing insight on a broad range of travel and tourism information, including current trends, destination development, marketing efforts and news impacting the industry today and tomorrow.

The continued value of tourism as an important economic driver in today’s economy is key as we work towards Team Alberta’s goal of $10 billion in tourism revenues by 2020. Many of those participating in the town hall series last year are familiar with Tourism Works video, and we are pleased this message is resonating across the province.

The webinar is designed to provide participants with an opportunity to address questions related to destination development and marketing using an online forum to allow for maximum reach across the province. Take part from the comfort of your desk or boardroom, and submit questions and comments throughout the presentation.

Presenters include Royce Chwin, CEO, Travel Alberta, Shelley Grollmuss, Vice-President, Industry Development, Travel Alberta, and Chris Heseltine, Assistant Deputy Minister, Tourism, Alberta Culture and Tourism.

Tourism and hospitality business operators, tourism marketers, travel industry employees, and government stakeholders are welcome and encouraged to participate in this dialogue. We hope you can all join us.

2016 Tourism Town Halls

Travel Alberta’s 2016 Tourism Industry Town Halls had more than 550 tourism partners in attendance at 12 Alberta locations. Travel Alberta and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism would like to extend thanks and appreciation to everyone who participated.

The collaborative spirit of Team Alberta was evident as tourism partners, destination marketers and local operators shared stories and explored opportunities for further alignment in our goal to grow tourism revenues to $10 billion by 2020.
The value of tourism to economic diversification and job creation in Alberta was a key presentation theme. Tourism works for Alberta; it’s an $8 billion industry supporting 19,000 business and 127,000 jobs across the province, and provides $4 billion in tax revenue to all levels of government.
