Heartland welcomed back to High River

The cast and crew of CBC Television's Heartland returned to High River on Tuesday, Nov. 5 to resume filming as well as present an $80,000 cheque to the Town of High River Disaster Relief Fund.

Mayor Craig Snodgrass and Councillor Emile Blokland were on-hand to accept the cheque on behalf of the Town and to welcome Heartland back to High River. The funds were raised at a special "Heartlanders for High River" fundraiser held earlier this summer.

The series' famous Maggie's Diner film set located in the heart of downtown High River was heavily damaged in the devastating flood that hit town on June 20, 2013. After months of repairs it has finally been restored and the community is excited to see film crews back at work.

Heartland has been filmed in High River since 2007. In June of 2012 the Town and the series producer celebrated their longstanding relationship by officially launching the "High River - Home of Heartland" tourism brand.
