Travel Alberta’s Social Media Training Series

Travel Alberta has partnered with A Couple of Chicks e-Marketing to present our upcoming Social Media webinar series.

Each workshop is designed to give you the basic steps of social media - setting up your networks (including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google, YouTube, LinkedIn, Foursquare, Yelp) and how to use the tips, tricks and resource material to maintain and grow your social media networks on your own.

All webinar workshops take place from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. MST

Session 1 – Facebook Strategy & Design, October 17, 2012 
Successful social media engagement begins with defining a clear strategy and that is true of a successful Facebook Page as well as designing a page that is engaging with the visitor. In this session we will review the new Facebook Timeline to help you define your Facebook strategy and teach you how to maintain your Page. We will review the customized tabs and applications that are available for your Timeline to help you decide what elements you want to include in your design and review the third-party platform that we recommend using to build and maintain your custom Page as required by Facebook.
 
Session 2 – Facebook Engagement and Insights, November 14, 2012 
While compelling design is important, great content and consistent engagement will turn Likes into customers. Our aim is to build your community, your credibility and position your page as a go-to resource.
Topics include:
• developing your brand personality
• developing a content strategy
• creating an editorial calendar
• connecting Facebook into your online presence
• tactics to build your Facebook community
• techniques to engage your audience
• Facebook Insights
• Facebook Advertising 

Session 3 – Twitter for Business, December 12, 2012 
Many businesses struggle with Twitter because they don’t understand how the network works. But the beauty of Twitter is in its simplicity. In fact, it’s so simple people don’t know where to start! Companies can follow clients and prospects without prior approval, easily search by keywords and industry to grow their network, and automate the process using a variety of tools that we will review with you. The benefits of your company being on Twitter are many, including that you follow a stream of daily updates from people that are talking about you and your industry online.

Session 4 – Pinterest, January 9, 2013
On board with Pinterest but not convinced this hot new network actually drives business? In this workshop you will learn hands on tips for making your Pinterest board work for you and the applications available to really make your company stand out.

Session 5 – Google Plus, Google Places and YouTube, February 13, 2013
No social media strategy is complete without taking advantage of the fantastic opportunities on networks including Google+, recently linked to Google Places and YouTube. In this workshop you will learn how to use these networks to your full advantage and how to integrate them into your overall social strategy.

Session 6 – LinkedIn and location-based networks Foursquare & Yelp, March 6, 2013 
LinkedIn for Business begins with a step-by-step overview of how to create a fully optimized profile and tips and tricks on how to create a network of strong personal connections. From there, we review LinkedIn Company Pages and Groups. From there we will review the benefits of two of the top location-based platforms on the social net, FourSquare and Yelp.

Social Media Tools, Tips and Tricks, March 20, 2013
We will recap the advantages of each social media platform and give you a clear, step- by-step process on how to get set up properly and how to integrate each of them into your marketing efforts.
