Call for presentations - 2014 Travel Alberta Industry Conference

Travel Alberta invites stakeholders from Alberta to submit education breakout session proposals for the 2014 Travel Alberta Industry Conference in Banff, October 19 - 21, 2014.

This conference is an educational and networking event attended by more than 700 people from across Alberta. Speakers gain valuable exposure in addition to making an important contribution to the tourism industry in Alberta.

We invite presentations on the following topic areas: marketing, Alberta tourism success stories, customer service, leadership, staff training and empowerment, social media and/or other tourism related topics.     

Submission Requirements

Sessions are typically 75 minutes in length (approximately 60 minutes in presentation and 15 minutes for questions.) However, we welcome submissions for sessions that can be offered as a two part series in the conference program. Travel Alberta encourages more than one submission from the same speaker.  Panel presentations may not have more than three speakers.

Presentation Criteria

  1. Presentation title (maximum 10 words)
  2. Target Audience
  3. Brief description of presentation (50-75 words)
  4. Learning Objectives (minimum - 2, maximum -4)
  5. Presentation format (classroom, panel discussion, interactive)
  6. Number of times the presenter is willing to present the session throughout the conference
  7. Audio &/or visual requirements – be specific as possible ( please note that presenters will be responsible for the cost of these requirements if not specified with proposal submission)
  8. Date and place topic was last presented (if applicable)

Deadline for submission: February 28, 2014. Presentation submissions sent after the deadline will not be reviewed. Notification of selected speaker(s)/presentations will be no later than March 21, 2014.

Criteria for review of submissions:
-Clear indication of topic and presentation material
-Relevance to the tourism industry
-Number of submissions within a topic area

All submissions will be reviewed by the Travel Alberta Industry Conference Committee. The conference committee reserves the right to accept any or none of the submissions received.  All committee decisions are final.

Each speaker will receive one full conference registration which will include a ticket to Alto Gala evening.  As is requested by the selected speakers, transportation and hotel expenses will be reimbursed.
