Tourism Calgary Q1 2013 Destination Report

The momentum from 2012 has carried over into the first quarter of 2013.

-Calgary’s hotel occupancy improved again in March for the twenty-sixth consecutive month.

-The marketing and communications team’s focus was on completing creative testing for marketing campaigns that will be executed regionally and nationally in 2013. Our annual marketing campaign – “Known/Unknown” – was launched in April and will run until the fall.

-More than 32,000 referrals were sent from visitcalgary.com to industry partner websites in Q1, an increase of 26% from the same time last year.

-Mobile visitation continues to grow at a dramatic rate, with mobile now accounting for almost 30% of total visitation, up from 17% in Q1 2012.

-The 2013 Visitor Guide, produced in partnership with Where Calgary, was printed and delivered to Tourism Calgary for distribution to visitors throughout 2013. A digital version is available online.
