2016 Travel Alberta Industry Conference a big success

The 2016 Travel Alberta Industry Conference (TAIC) was a resounding success, with more than 600 industry partners from across Alberta coming together to network, learn and celebrate Alberta’s dynamic tourism industry.

A Strong Program for a Growing Industry

Held from October 23-25 at the Fairmont Banff Springs, the three-day event featured 26 concurrent sessions touching on everything from developing social media strategies and engagements to generating shareable content that will inspire potential customers, to crisis communications and attracting the Chinese traveller.

Award winning key note speakers, Brian Solis, Denise Lee Yohn and Jay Baer encouraged us all to think differently about the way we operate, while harnessing the power of visitor’s experiences, building great brands and embracing customer complaints.

The Google team was also on-site and in-person providing individual advice and sharing best practices relating to AdWords, Google Analytics and how-to’s on editing YouTube videos at the first ever Conference Google Help Desk.

2016 Alto Award Winners Announced

Twenty-seven outstanding tourism industry partners from communities across Alberta were recognized for excellence as Alto finalists at Alberta’s 2016 Alto Awards on October 24. Alto Award winners were announced in 9 categories. Here is the full list of award winners and outstanding finalists.

The 2016 Alto Ambassador Award was presented to Jim Muir.
