Calling All Tourism Champions: May 14 - 20 is Tourism Week in Canada

Tourism week in Canada is a national initiative that highlights the impact of travel and tourism in Canada.

This week of celebration is a great time to remind citizens about the economic impact of tourism throughout our province of Alberta.

Each year dozens of businesses and organizations use Tourism Week to show how tourism contributes to Canada’s economy, its standard of living, and the quality of life of all Canadians. The industry of travel and tourism are important drivers of economic growth and diversity; tourism brings business, business means jobs, and jobs create healthy and prosperous communities.

Tourism Week also serves as a kickoff to the peak summer season, allowing the city of Lethbridge and surrounding areas to showcase all of the great attractions and natural beauty Southern Alberta has to offer.

Join the Chinook Country Tourist Association in celebrating this week and showing off everything that Southern Alberta has to offer to tourists.

In honour of Tourism Week, Chinook Country Tourist Association is holding a contest where we ask the question “What are some places and attractions you like to show friends and family when they come visit you in Southern Alberta?”

Contest submissions can be filled out online on the Chinook Country Tourist Association website, exploresouthwestalberta.ca, or at either of the two Visitor Information Centres in Lethbridge (Scenic location and Brewery Hill location).

The winner of the contest will win two nights at Waterton Lakes Lodge for 4 people including two meals from Vimmy’s Lounge & Grill.

Contest winner will be announced May 23, 2012.

Help us promote and show off everything that Southern Alberta has to offer during this national week of celebration!
