Kicking Horse River Rafting Company Launches Two New Adventures for 2016
In celebration of their 25th Anniversary, Wild Water Adventures, Inc., based in Lake Louise, Alberta and operating whitewater rafting trips on the nearby Kicking Horse River west of Banff and Lake Louise, Alberta, has created two exciting new river trips to appeal to the widest variety of adventure levels.
“Our aim was to come up with something new and exciting for our guests to experience this summer to help us celebrate our 25th anniversary,” states Ted Bilton, Owner/Operator of Wild Water Adventures since its start up in 1992, “and to appeal to the widest range of adventure levels in doing so.”
Designed for thrill seekers and adrenalin junkies, their first new offering is called the “Maximum HorsePower”™ trip. A unique concept for rafting in the Canadian Rockies, this afternoon trip offers two runs down the popular, 12 km “Whitewater Exciter” section of the Kicking Horse River for a total of 24 kms of rafting and 28 rapids (class II to IV) in two different sizes of rafts and two distinctly different rafting styles.
“This new trip offers rafters 2½ hours of the best whitewater now available near Calgary, Banff, Lake Louise or Golden, BC,” says Bilton, “and our guests get to enjoy the experience in two distinctly different types of rafts. It’s unique. With a total of 28 rapids to enjoy, we believe it makes up for the closure of the Lower Canyon section and is perfect for those wanting to truly experience the thrill of whitewater rafting.”
Their 2nd offering, the “Gentle River Journey” is also an afternoon trip geared towards families and what the company likes to refer to as “reluctant rafters,” or those seeking a milder rafting experience but yet still wanting some fun waves and splashes to enjoy.
“We’ve offered our Gentle trip in the mornings since 2000 and it’s proven very popular with families. Now, we’re also offering it in the afternoon. Our guests will enjoy the warmth of the afternoon sunshine. In addition, the later departure time gives our guests more travel time to get to us, particularly families or groups from Calgary.”
Bilton adds, “It is also the only family trip offered on the Kicking Horse River in the afternoon, making it another unique opportunity for people to take advantage of.”
Trips meet and depart from their “RiverBase Daylodge,” which is the base of their operations on the Kicking Horse River, 54 kms west of Lake Louise and 26 kms east of Golden, BC .For more information contact Ted Bilton. firstname.lastname@example.org or www.wildwater.com
