Tourism marketing recognized at annual Anvil Awards

Three of Travel Alberta’s creative marketing pieces were recognized at the annual Anvil Awards competition last week in Calgary. Presented by the Ad Rodeo Society, the Anvil Awards recognize creativity and the best work among Calgary advertising agencies. 

Travel Alberta’s commercial “Air Reborn”, created by C&B Advertising, won an Anvil in the music category. The commercial “Electric City”, also by C&B, received merits in the music and broadcast single categories. 

The Alberta Story on Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, created by Venture Communications, received another merit for videography. 

Work from Alberta tourism partners was also featured at the awards and included the Calgary Zoo’s Penguin Walk campaign, the Calgary Stampede’s ‘Stampede 101’ campaign, and Heritage Park’s direct marketing pieces. The Best in Show Anvil was awarded for the Calgary Zoo’s annual report published entirely on Instagram. All Anvil Award winners can be found on the Ad Rodeo website.
