120 Alberta Hotels Receive Annual Housekeeping Award
The Alberta Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA) has revealed this year’s list of Housekeeping Award recipients. For over 30 years, with the support of Travel Alberta and the Government of Alberta, the AHLA has recognized Alberta properties that demonstrate excellence in delivering the highest quality of accommodation to visitors in our province.
“This award is truly a celebration of management and heart-of-house staff in properties of all sizes across Alberta. Their dedication to providing guests with the highest level of comfort and cleanliness is the foundation of our hospitality industry. Congratulations to each and every Housekeeping Award recipient and their outstanding team.”
– Dave Kaiser, AHLA President & CEO
TrustYou provides every property listed on Check In Canada with a TrustScore™ based on a summary of all verified online property reviews. The AHLA’s goal is to see each property as the guests do, and so breaks down this TrustScore to re-create a detailed Housekeeping Score. This score measures only the hotel’s cleanliness, maintenance, and state of repair, and does not reflect elements such as swimming pools, wifi, or restaurants. The Housekeeping Score provides meaningful feedback on what hotels are doing well and areas for improvement. Only those properties that demonstrate exceptional housekeeping, maintenance, and state of repair receive this highly sought accolade.
The Housekeeping Award is unique to Alberta’s lodging industry and is the only award of its kind in Canada. Coveted by hotels and heart-of-house staff, it continues to raise the standard of housekeeping in properties of all sizes throughout the province. The staff of this year’s acclaimed properties will receive their award Monday, April 10, 2016 at the AHLA’s 97th annual convention.
The Housekeeping Awards were developed in 1983 by the Alberta Hotel Association, Motel Association of Alberta, and Alberta Economic Development to encourage, recognize, and foster excellence in housekeeping, maintenance, and state of repair in hotels and motels. Since 1983, over 3,000 Housekeeping Awards have been presented.
