Travel Alberta Celebrates Win for Best Conference in Canada

On Thursday, March 30, the annual Travel Alberta Industry Conference (TAIC) won the award for Best Conference at the Canadian Event Industry Awards, hosted by Canadian Special Events Magazine in Toronto.

“This is a significant win for our team and the tourism industry in Alberta,” said Royce Chwin, CEO, Travel Alberta. “A lot of planning and collaboration goes into organizing a conference of this calibre – creating an opportunity for passionate people to learn from each other, share stories and build advocacy for their destinations and experiences. While the traveller is at the heart of our marketing activity, our tourism industry is at the heart of Alberta’s economy.”

Tourism Works is an important message to Alberta as we look for ways to reinvigorate the economy,” said Colleen Reed, Director, Industry Events and Engagement. “It was the key theme of the event for which we won, but it’s also a keystone of the work we do at Travel Alberta every day.”

Save the date for TAIC 2017 taking place October 22-24, 2017, in Banff, Alberta. The annual tourism conference is hosted in conjunction with the Alto Awards (Alberta tourism awards) each year. We encourage all Alberta operators to nominate their organizations in the various categories offered.
