Industry Conference Call For Presentations

Travel Alberta invites Alberta companies to submit education breakout session proposals for the 2013 Travel Alberta Industry Conference, October 27-29, 2013, in Banff. Submission deadline is Friday, March 1, 2013.

We invite presentations on the following topic areas:
-marketing
-success stories
-customer service
-leadership
-volunteer recruitment and management and/or staff training and empowerment

Notification of selected speaker(s)/presentations will be no later than April 30, 2013.

The Travel Alberta industry conference is an award-winning educational and networking event that is attended by more than 700 people from the tourism industry across Alberta. Presenters gain valuable exposure in addition to making an important contribution to the tourism industry in Alberta. Each speaker will receive one full conference registration which will include a ticket to Alto Awards Gala evening. All presenters will be reimbursed for their transportation and hotel expenses.

Submission Requirements:
-Sessions are typically 75 minutes in length (approximately 60 minutes in presentation and 15 minutes for questions.) However, we welcome submissions for sessions that can be offered as a two part series in the conference program
-Panel presentations may not have more than three speakers
-Travel Alberta encourages more than one submission from the same speaker

Presentation Criteria:
1. Presentation title (maximum 10 words):
2. Target Audience
3. Brief description of presentation (50-75 words)
4. Learning Objectives (minimum - 2, maximum -4)
5. Presentation format (classroom, panel discussion, interactive)
6. Number of times the presenter is willing to present the session throughout the conference
7. Audio &/or visual requirements – be specific as possible ( please note that presenters will be responsible for the cost of these requirements if not specified with proposal submission)
8. Date and place topic was last presented (if applicable). If the topic was presented at another conference, please include a sample of the material covered such as PowerPoint or video.

Criteria for review of submissions:
1. Clear indication of topic and presentation material
2. Relevance to the tourism industry
3. Number of submissions within a topic area

All submissions will be reviewed by the Travel Alberta Industry Conference Committee. The conference committee reserves the right to accept any or none of the submissions received. All committee decisions are final.
