The Green Jersey known as the EllisDon Sprint Points Jersey will be presented daily to the cyclist who has accumulated the most points in intermediate sprints and at various stages of the race. Most difficult stages are worth more points at the finish line and are based upon the order of riders at the end of the stage instead of accumulated time.

The second day of the race will start in the midst of the serene Delta Lodge at Kananaskis for Pomeroy Inn & Suites Stage Two: Kananaskis to Olds in partnership with Mountain View County on September 2. The Pomeroy Inn and Suites Best Canadian Jersey will also be presented daily.
Finally, the Delta Air Lines Stage Five: Edmonton will close off the 2016 Tour on September 5, Labour Day Monday, in a battle on Edmonton’s iconic finale circuit through the heart of downtown Edmonton.
The Tour of Alberta also released details for its Paint the Province program, which encourages communities across the province to get engaged with the Tour of Alberta presented by ATB Financial.
