Travel Alberta Appoints Vice President, Finance & Corporate Administration
Travel Alberta is pleased to announce the appointment of Kara Claypool as the Vice President, Finance and Corporate Administration, effective December 7, 2015.
Reporting to Royce Chwin, President and Chief Executive Officer, and as a member of the executive team, Kara will be responsible for the overall financial integrity of the organization.
Kara has been a leader in strategic financial growth with an emphasis on financial management, strategic leadership and excellence in corporate administration, operations and marketing, and has been the driving force in the growth and establishment of three popular Alberta brands.
Previous to Travel Alberta, Kara was the CFO/COO at Calgary's Vintage Group, a restaurant collection that includes nine locations encompassing five unique brands. Prior to Vintage Group, Kara was Executive Vice President with Jugo Juice, a national brand where she oversaw the strategic vision, financial performance, team development and operational execution. Kara began her career with Big Rock Brewery, starting as a junior accountant and becoming the senior manager of finance and strategic planning during her ten year tenure.
In recognition of her professional accomplishments, Kara was named to Avenue Calgary's TOP 40 UNDER 40 list in 2011, and following that, named in Alberta Venture Magazine's TOP 10 RISING STARS Under 40 in 2012. Additionally, as a female executive, Kara has had the privilege of participating in speaking engagements for Women's Executive Network (WXN), Women of Influence (WOI) and Women in Leadership (WIL).
