With the launch of their new website, the Canadian Food Championships has officially announced its seven competition categories and has opened the applications for judges, competitors, and volunteers. Over $50,000 in cash and prizes is up for grabs at the CFC, and first-‐ and second-‐place winners in each category will receive a golden ticket to represent Team Canada at the World Food Championships in Florida for a grand prize of $100,000.

Categories:
1. Bacon
2. Burger
3. Chili
4. Dessert
5. Pasta
6. Sandwich
7. Seafood

Competitors:
The Canadian Food Championships is looking for competitors 16 and older from all over Canada to compete. There will be up to 20 competitors for each of the seven categories, with a first-place prize in each category of $2,500 cash and a $1,500 travel voucher to Florida. Competitors can be of any skill level and can apply to compete in as many categories as they would like. Entry fees are $100 per competitor per category. Those interested in competing can find out information about our preferred qualifier competitions and wild card entry applications at www.canadianfoodchampionships.ca/get-‐involved.

Judges:
The CFC is looking for over 100 judges to help determine who will be representing Team Canada at the World Food Champions. Judges do not need prior experience and will be trained at no cost prior to their judging session. Those interested in judging can apply at www.canadianfoodchampionships.ca/get-‐involved.

To become a certified E.A.T. Methodology judge, a certification course will be offered July 21, 2015, for $100. This gives you first dibs to judge at any World Food Championships sanctioned event including the World Food Championships itself!

Volunteers:
Like all great events, the CFC is run primarily by amazing volunteers. All volunteers who have completed a shift will receive Taste of Edmonton tickets and 25% of their competition entry fee back if they choose to compete. Those interested in volunteering can apply at www.canadianfoodchampionships.ca/get-‐involved.
