Travel Alberta Wins Three Anvil Awards

Travel Alberta has won three Anvil Awards, presented by the Ad Rodeo Society. The Anvil Awards recognize creativity and the best work among Calgary advertising agencies.

These Anvil Awards brings the number of awards won by Travel Alberta since it was created as a Crown Corporation in 2009 to sixteen.

Drums Like Hearts, a 30-second spot created for Travel Alberta by Karo, won for both Best of Show and Art Direction.

Drums Like Hearts showcases Alberta's Aboriginal heritage with Pow Wow dancing in Horsethief Canyon, located near Drumheller, and dancing at the Edmonton Folk Festival. You can watch Drums Like Hearts on Travel Alberta's YouTube Channel.

Travel Alberta’s elevator wrap, created by Venture Communications, won for Out of Home, Single. Elevators in Calgary were transformed into “gondolas” to captivate and engage riders to remember to breathe as part of Travel Alberta’s 2011 winter campaign. As riders waited for the arrival of the elevator, outside doors featured skis and snowboards stowed away in bins. Once inside, riders were surrounded by a breathtaking Alberta landscape with outstanding mountain vistas.
