Travel Alberta to host Social Media Summit – February 23, 2012 in Calgary

On Thursday, February 23, 2012 Travel Alberta is hosting a new event for tourism industry partners who actively market their products or services through social media.

 

The Social Media Summit has been conceived specifically for business and organizations who have a dedicated social media resource person, have built a significant following (5,000 + followers/fans), and are interested in taking their social media efforts to the next level.

 

“Social media is an area many of our industry partners have indicated is of great interest to them and the Social Media Basics workshops put on by Travel Alberta’s Industry Relations team are always very popular,” commented Nancy Smith, Manager of Social Media for Travel Alberta. “But we recognize that as certain partners successfully continue to grow their following on social media and dedicate more and more resources to this channel as part of their marketing mix, they require more in-depth and advanced session to further their knowledge.”

 

Topics for the Social Media Summit will focus on advanced, interactive sessions including:
- Establishing social media policy
- Risks, liabilities and crisis management
- The business of social media – customer relations and commerce

Where: Canada Olympic Park – Athletic Complex Conference Room – Calgary, Alberta
Cost: There is no cost to attend.
