Miss Rodeo Canada Crowns A New Queen
On Saturday, November 12, Ali Mullin, the 2015 Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede Queen, was crowned Miss Rodeo Canada 2017 at the 43rd Canadian Finals Rodeo.
Long days in the saddle nurtured Mullin’s early passion for the western way of life. Doctoring cattle, starting colts and showing home-raised Clay Ranch quarter horses led to a keen interest in the equine industry and a rodeo career spanning junior high school through college. Originally hailing from Cartwright, MB, Mullin now hangs her hat in Redcliff, AB. A Medicine Hat College honours student, the new Miss Rodeo Canada is pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Visual Communications that will pair with her Agribusiness diploma from Lakeland College for a graphic design career specializing in agriculture and small businesses. Mullin is actively involved with her family’s Manitoba quarter horse operation.
Northlands congratulates Ali on becoming this year’s Canadian ambassador for the sport of rodeo. She will travel to over 400 events all across Canada and around the world. Since 1955, Miss Rodeo Canada has been crowned on an annual basis. Each Queen, including 2016 winner Samantha Stokes, has been a role model for young women everywhere and provided a valuable contribution to the community through their work at numerous charity events.
