New Co-operative Marketing Funding Applications Now Available

Travel Alberta is now accepting and approving industry consortia applications for co-op funding for the 2012-13 fiscal year.

New co-operative funding guidelines and application forms for projects seeking Travel Alberta co-op marketing funding April 1, 2012 through March 31, 2013 are now available for download at Industry.TravelAlberta.com.

The guidelines, developed by Travel Alberta and the six TDRs have been endorsed by the Strategic Tourism marketing Council (STMC) and Travel Alberta's Board of Directors.

The new co-op marketing program makes it easier for industry to do business with Travel Alberta with one set of guidelines, forms, and application/evaluation processes.

Regional funding allocations have been maintained. An additional $1 million is also available through a province-wide co-op marketing fund, bringing Travel Alberta’s total co-op funding support to more than $8 million in 2012-13.

Co-op marketing decisions will continue to be made regionally with Judi Best, Brook Carpenter, Marianne McKee and Cathie Orchin joining Travel Alberta’s Industry Relations team on April 1st. This means more regional resources available to assist industry with Travel Alberta co-op funding applications, campaigns, offers, workshops, marketing advice, etc.

Travel Alberta will maintain a sufficient pool of funds to ensure that all tourism operators, including those not affiliated with Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs), will always have access to co-op funding from Travel Alberta. The progress of Travel Alberta’s co-op marketing support to industry will be reported regularly during the fiscal year on Industry.TravelAlberta.com

Travel Alberta is committed to working with industry, DMOs and regional tourism marketing partners and will continue to meet twice annually at round table sessions with regional tourism partners. How to apply for co-op marketing funding will also be a subject included in all upcoming travel Alberta learning workshops. Click here for more information
