Alberta Hotel & Lodging Association announces new Board of Directors

The Alberta Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) is pleased to announce the new board of directors for 2014-15. The new board, which officially begins its term April 27th, includes ten returning directors and four new directors.

This year also marks the end of Perry Wilford’s tenure as board Chair, with him now moving into the Past Chair position. Perry will be replaced by incoming chair Steven Watters of the Sawridge Inn & Conference Centre in Fort McMurray. Steven’s acclamation marks the first ever AHLA Chair located in Fort McMurray. “I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as Chair for the AHLA board of directors,” says Watters. “Our industry is in an exciting period of growth and transition as we continue to respond to the ever-growing changes of the hospitality environment in Alberta. As Chair, I am excited to lead the Board on critical decisions to better our members and our industry.”

Each year the AHLA recruits directors who have the ability to positively represent the hotel and lodging industry. Collectively, the board of directors is responsible for the effective governance of the association and is accountable to AHLA members.
