The River Valley Alliance has a New Executive Director

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Larry Wall to the position of Executive Director of the River Valley Alliance (RVA). As Executive Director, Wall will work with members of the Board and Standing Committees, staff and stakeholders to carry out the RVA’s vision to “create a continuous world class metropolitan river valley park system from Devon through Parkland County, Leduc County, Edmonton, Strathcona County and Sturgeon County to Fort Saskatchewan.”

Wall graduated from the University of Alberta in Physical Education with specializations in Outdoor Education and Sport Administration. This prepared him for a successful career in sport and outdoor recreation management. In 1995 the career shift to economic development enabled him to apply his leadership and sustainable development values to influence value added investments to Alberta’s energy resources.

Wall joins the River Valley Alliance following recent successful roles with Alberta Enterprise and Advanced Education, Edmonton Sustainable Development and Total E&P Canada Ltd. As the Executive Director of Alberta's Industrial Heartland Association, Wall lead a team of municipal, provincial and business professionals in establishing Canada's leading heavy industrial area.  Wall was chosen as Alberta's Economic Developer of the year in 1999 and twice he was recognized by Alberta Venture magazine as one of Alberta's 50 Most Influential People.

Under the executive leadership of Larry Wall, the River Valley Alliance is embarking upon a very exciting new phase of our journey of growth and development.
