ACTA Wins Canadian Tourism Award
The Alberta Culinary Tourism Alliance (ACTA) received the Restaurants Canada Culinary Tourism Experience Award last night at the Tourism Industry Association of Canada’s (TIAC) Canadian Tourism Awards in Gatineau, Quebec.
This is the first time that the award was presented, and other finalists included Alberta Food Tours and the Ontario Culinary Tourism Alliance. The Culinary Tourism Experience Award recognizes an organization or business that delivers an authentic consumer experience showcasing Canadian food and beverage.
“We are honoured to receive this first-time award as it recognizes the incredible culinary community we have in Alberta,” says Tannis Baker, Executive Director of ACTA. “The support we receive from our Destination Marketing Organizations, Travel Alberta, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and other members of the agricultural and tourism industries help us to showcase the incredible bounty of chefs, farmers and producers across the province.”
ACTA was also honoured earlier this year with the Collaborative Tourism Award at the Travel Alberta Industry Conference in Banff, Alberta for the 2015 Cook It Raw Alberta program.
