Travel Alberta is offering two workshops in Red Deer this March:

Media Relations 101: We Are Storytellers

Date: March 17, 2016

Travellers are overwhelmed with information, whether it’s from traditional media such as newspapers, magazines, radio and television or new media including the internet and social media like Facebook or Twitter. The trick is to find ways to stand out from all the noise.

We will look at how to find and package stories about your operation or destination; include tips on how to pitch stories, build relationships with travel journalists and sample checklists to help you build your media relations toolbox.

Building Your Business Through the Travel Trade

To achieve strong growth of Alberta’s tourism industry, Travel Alberta and the Alberta tourism industry will not only need to work together to keep Albertan’s travelling in Alberta, but at the same time, work to bring new dollars into the economy by inspiring international travellers to choose Alberta as their vacation destination. This informative session will help you determine if working with the travel trade is an opportunity to help grow your business. Topics include The Value of Working with the Travel Trade, Travel Trade Trends and Structure, and Export Ready Essentials.

A member of Travel Alberta’s Experience Development Team will attend. The Experience Development Team at Travel Alberta is responsible for supporting the marketing of Alberta as a tourism destination through the development of experiences and itineraries in collaboration with receptive tour operators, Tourism Parks and Recreation and Alberta industry.
