Travel Alberta is poised for its journey of excellence to become Canada’s pre-eminent tourism marketing agency.  Collaborating with private and public sectors at home and internationally, Travel Alberta will develop and deliver research-based marketing programs to enable the tourism economy in Alberta to grow and prosper.  

Position Summary

Reporting to the Marketing Director, Asia & Latin America, the Marketing Manager, Asia & Latin America is responsible for providing advice, guidance and support to the team members responsible for the development and execution of marketing programs in Travel Alberta’s overseas markets of China, Japan, South Korea, Mexico and India. This is a critical position in the International Marketing team as it fosters relationships and aligns partnerships amongst Travel Alberta, Market Development Directors, and Alberta industry stakeholders. This role will contribute to Travel Alberta People Strategy and team development by leading and coaching one direct report and actively living the team member behavior model.

Position Requirements

As Marketing Manager, Asia and Latin America you understand the intricacies of tourism marketing and international business. Your innovative, creative and collaborative approach to program development, online and print campaigns will enable you to lead Travel Alberta to the forefront of Canada’s tourism industry. Your ability to act with conviction and your superior communication skills will establish and maintain relationships and partnerships that seize emerging market opportunities. Your leading-edge concept development and international business acumen will allow you to develop and execute on unique opportunities that enhance Alberta’s position in the market. Your organization, effective time management and attention to detail, will enable you to manage projects of multiple scopes and budgets.  

Your diploma or degree in Marketing, Tourism or International Business will be complemented with at least five years of progressive tourism marketing experience.  Your dedication and passion in branding and marketing has taken your career to this point. Special Requirements

This is an 18-month term position. Start date: April 2, 2013. Some travel is required This position is based in the Calgary office.
