Position Summary

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, Europe & Australia, the Marketing Specialist, Europe & Australia is responsible for creating, implementing and facilitating Familiarization tours for Travel Alberta’s key tour operators and travel agents in major overseas markets. This role manages marketing and administrative projects that contribute to the strategic and tactical proficiency of the International Team and provides support during FAM Tours, tradeshows and marketplaces.     

Position Requirements

As Marketing Specialist, Europe & Australia your knowledge and understanding of the tourism industry, travel trade channels and International Marketing along with your innovative and creative approach will assist you in the development and execution of Familiarization Tours. Your knowledge of project coordination and event planning will assist you in developing timelines and critical paths for FAM tours and ensure deadlines are met.  

Your superior interpersonal and communication skills, together with your ability to act with conviction will establish and foster relationships with Destination Marketing Organizations (DMO’s) and Industry Partners. Your experience with tracking, analyzing and reporting budgets will ensure quality and timeliness of project execution.  

Your education in Marketing, Tourism or Business is complemented with at least three years of tourism marketing-related experience. Your dedication and passion has taken your career to this point. Special Requirements

Some travel may be required. Some overtime may be required.

This position is based in the Calgary office.  Classification: Specialist 1, Salary Range: $56,328 - $73,224 Hours of Work: 36.25 hours per week, Employment Status: 6 Month Term
