Position Summary:
You will help create a unique experience acting as one of the first and last points of contact with for visitors from around the world.

Under the guidance of the Financial Services Administrator you will provide accurate information on a variety of topics of interest to visitors (including times of tours, shows, events and performances), directions to various places in the center (such as cafeteria, gift shop, theatre, restrooms), admission prices and general site information. You will also provide detailed information about Southwest Alberta attractions, events of interest, parks etc and local accommodations and services.

Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump has been designated by Travel Alberta as a Tourist Information Center and is operated according to guidelines (training will be provided but abilities must be demonstrated before the season begins).

You may also be asked to perform other duties by your on-site supervisor. Our goal is to provide outstanding high quality customer service to all visitors to Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump.

Our ideal candidate must be able to work under pressure of visitor volume and schedules with little direct supervision to provide excellent customer service to visitors of Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump World Heritage Site. Strong verbal communication skills are necessary.

-Possess a valid Alberta Driver’s Licence and have own transportation to and from the site or the meeting location for the free daily staff shuttle service from Fort Macleod.
-Must undergo a police security check at time of employment.
-Must have a professional attitude and show a willingness to learn.
-Able to work with limited supervision.
-Ability to perform limited physical work including heavy lifting.
-Basic knowledge of the buffalo culture of plains peoples as is related to the sites archaeology and history is an asset.

Salary: $13.00-$18.00/hr (depending on experience) 36.25 to 40 hours per week. (Rotating Schedule, weekend work required)
