The University of Lethbridge is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Manager in the Conference & Event Services Office. 

This is a full time continuing Administrative Professional Officer (APO) position located at our Lethbridge campus.  

Reporting directly to the Manager of Conference & Event Services the Assistant Manager will be responsible for managing the day to day operations of the year round campus hotel, managing external events and ensuring an efficient operation while respecting the service philosophy as well as industry standards.

Conference & Event Services is a full cost-recovery, multi-faceted operation that manages external event bookings and the campus hotel. The successful candidate will manage a team of student employees, work with professionals throughout the University and facilitate external contracted services in order to deliver quality service to customers. Developing relationships and actively participating in community organizations to increase sales and awareness of services is mandatory.  

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. Experience in hotel or accommodation sales, marketing, financial accounting and customer service will be considered an asset. A proactive individual dedicated to building new and sustainable business practices and procedures is the ideal candidate. Strong communication, organization and a demonstrated ability to lead in a team environment is necessary. A key measure of success is the ability to build strong working relationships with major customers both on and off campus to attract new business and to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
