Are you a dynamic, organized and creative individual who is looking for a new challenge? Anderson Vacations, Alberta’s fastest growing Tour Operator/Wholesaler is looking for someone to fill the role of Marketing Manager in either their Calgary, Alberta or Vernon, British Columbia Office. We will interview candidates from both areas.

Anderson Vacations is a dynamic FIT, Group and Escorted Series Tour Operator marketing itself as Destination Experts Who Create Customised Travel Experiences. They focus on Canada, Alaska, Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific Islands as their key destination set.

The primary goal of Anderson Vacations is to provide exceptional customer service and extensive Canada and South pacific product knowledge to their customers, retailers, and wholesalers, through an online, dynamic technology system and aggressive sales and marketing plan. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Managing all marketing for the company and activities within the marketing department
  • This position will be a part of our five member management team
  • Developing the marketing strategy for the company in line with company objectives by product line
  • Co-ordinating marketing campaigns with sales activities
  • Creation and publication of all marketing material in line with marketing plans
  • Planning and implementing promotional campaigns
  • Manage and improve lead generation campaigns, measuring results
  • Managing SEO (Search Engine Optimization) Strategy For New Anderson Vacations website
  • Manage Online Digital Marketing Budget and Strategy 
  • Overall responsibility for brand management and corporate identity
  • Preparing online and print marketing campaigns
  • Monitor and report on effectiveness of marketing communications
  • Creating a wide range of different marketing materials
  • Working closely with design agencies and assisting with new product launches
  • Maintain effective internal communications to ensure that all relevant company functions are kept informed of marketing objectives
  • Analysing potential strategic partner relationships for company marketing
  • Maintaining and working with the Anderson Vacations team goals, and 6 fundamental business principles 
  • Working with fellow management team to ensure corporate goals achieved, brand consistently represented and positive organizational climate internally
  • Successfully initiating and operating all cooperative marketing programs signed off individually or by  the CEO and STO (State Tourism Authority) or DMO (Destination Marketing) partners. This includes buying ad space with key partners and Consortia groups as required, negotiating best rates and implementation with design
  • Maintain personal work area and general office in a clean and tidy manner and encourage others to do the same
  • Complete organization of the electronic and paper marketing and sales department filing including annual reconciliation of these programs
  • Monitor and manage, including uploading product, modifying existing entries and maintaining fluidity as a marketing vehicle of Anderson Vacations
  • Participate in regular meetings and prepare reports as required
  • Creation of weekly Agent and consumer eblasts working with Product Managers and I Contact to ensure distributed frequently and on time
  • Increase subscribers through cross promotion to the Anderson e newsletter
  • Administrative responsibilities within Anderson Vacations such as ensuring brochures are always in place for the team to distribute, assisting sales reps with trade show shipments, and overall management of the banner display and LCD projector inventory
  • Prepare the development of 2015/2016 and beyond Marketing Budget and Sales plan with the assistance of the CEO
  • Manage Meeting minutes for Sales & Marketing Meetings created and distributed
  • Take RSVPs for and help develop presentations for Travel Agent Nights, Exhibiting at Agent Shows, Addison Shows, Group Launches, Senior presentations
  • Sign off on marketing invoices in line with approved budgets
  • Creation of ad content for Senior Papers, BDM cooperative campaigns and other print ads as necessary 
  • Perform other duties, in pursuit of company goals and objectives, as required and requested by the management team


  • Bachelor degree in Marketing or 5 Years Marketing Experience 
  • Online SEO Experience and/or Digital Experience
  • Social Media Skills an asset
  • Travel Industry Experience as asset
  • Strong analytical and project management skills
  • Confident and dynamic personality
  • Strong creative outlook

The successful candidate will be familiar with Anderson Vacations and the wholesale/retail framework; have strong knowledge working on Windows XP computer software including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook; and be willing to work hard to ensure that the Anderson Vision is reached. Adobe Business Catalyst experience is an asset as is familiarity with Google Keywords, SEO and Digital experience. The individual who is successful in acquiring this position will exhibit a passion for the travel industry, possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and work well in a team environment or independently. Travel industry and personal travel experience is an asset.
