We are looking for two dedicated individuals to join our Tourism team as Meeting and Conventions Specialists, both in a 12-month maternity leave capacity. This role serves as an important team-player, contributing to the success of the team through their solid administration support, interacting with local industry, as well as national and international clients.

Whether introducing Edmonton to new and emerging markets, or building on firmly established relationships, we enlighten and are the connection to the story-tellers that generate the best conversation. The Meetings and Conventions Specialists will be a “go to” person on the team for administrative tasks, and will be a significant resource internally. A successful mix of data management superstar and a creative mind is what we are looking for! Having familiarity with Customer Relationship Management systems, and Conference Services Management through servicing all incoming conferences will be a great asset as this individual becomes our champion. This role will be a key part of the Tourism team as they provide administrative support for the development, promotion and support of the Business Travel Sales Team. Superb attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities will set this individual up for success. As a coordinator of Tourism happenings and internal client information, this loyal, customer-friendly individual will deliver an outstanding impression of the team.  

This confident and extremely detail oriented person must have the ability to problem solve, be a self-starter and adapt to a variety of tasks and priorities.  In addition, this individual will be a master communicator who excels in a fast paced environment and has demonstrated the ability to manage multiple administrative responsibilities simultaneously. Working independently is your strong suit, though being able to collaborate and communicate effectively within the team will be crucial. With excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, this person will be able to work within all computer programs smoothly and efficiently. Knowledge of greater Edmonton’s tourism/hospitality industries and product, tourism bureau functions and hotel environments would be considered an amazing asset to the team!
