Position Summary
Reporting to the Executive Director, eMarketing, the Development Manager is responsible for leading Travel Alberta’s website and software development efforts. The responsibilities for this role include leading a team of in-house developers, guiding development methodologies, fostering team member education and development best practices, as well as leading and evaluating partner agency development teams. 

Position Requirements
As Development Manager you understand the requirements and dynamics of leading teams to develop flexible and sustainable solutions that align with corporate business needs. Your ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships and credibility with team members and agency partners will compliment your ability to architect and lead software development efforts that deliver a high return on investment.

Projects are varied and time sensitive, requiring a high degree of creative thinking, multi-tasking, prioritizing and analytical decision making skills to ensure quality and timeliness of messaging.
As Development Manager you will manage a growing development team including managing evolving demands, reviewing work, regular meetings and performance management. You have demonstrated problem solving abilities and can gather and analyze information skillfully in order to identify opportunities and resolve problems in a timely manner while providing broad functional and technical expertise including development standards and best practices.

Your degree in Computer Science or related field is complemented with seven or more years of relevant, progressively responsible experience in software development together with three years in a leadership role. Your dedication and passion in development has taken your career to this point. Now, it is time to advance to a new level by stepping into Travel Alberta’s exciting working environment!   

Special Requirements
Some travel is required.
This position is based in the Calgary office.
