In this leadership role you will report to the CEO working as part of a senior integrated team. Leading a small unit, you set the marketing and communications strategy focused on strengthening and aligning all aspects of communications, marketing and reputation management. You will lead initiatives and support a collaborative culture connecting with a wide and diverse group of stakeholders. As a member of the senior leadership team, you will provide high level strategic advice and contribute to the overall success and effectiveness of Jasper’s destination marketing organization.    

Areas of responsibility include (and are not limited to): 

  • Develop and manage all integrated campaigns on time, on budget and measure results ensuring a high level ROI (return on investment)  
  • Management of the marketing & communications team  
  • Plan, develop, communicate and execute on annual business and marketing plan including overseeing budget (revenue, expense, forecasts)  
  • Develop, manage, measure, and optimize all e-strategies in key markets; online marketing, SEM, SEO, Social Media, e-mail marketing and website strategies
  • Build effective partnership activities maximizing in-market presence to increase regional and international visitation to the benefit of JDMC Shareholders 
  • Oversee media relations & buying 
  • Driving the development and execution of event campaigns through collaborating with other business units 
  • Analysis of customer research, current market conditions and competitor analysis 
  • Ensure alignment with PMO and NTO in relation to marketing and brand development 
  • Leads the development of the brand guidelines and ensures all internal & external communications adhere to brand standards (copy, images, all promotional aspects) 
  • Oversee digital assets, including creation and inventory 
  • Drives the procurement and management of outsourced agencies and contractors as it relates to Marketing, Web, Asset Management, and Creative
  • Work with shareholders to provide a platform for promotion of product, as well as consultation on marketing, brand development, and performance
  • Encourage and live the Tourism Jasper values

  • Exceptional Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint) 
  • Ability to exhibit leadership, adaptability, and creativity 
  • Understanding of Destination Marketing Organizations 
  • Understanding of Jasper partners and product

The successful applicant will have relevant post secondary education and/or a minimum of 5 years experience in the discipline of marketing.

Familiarity working with and knowledge of Jasper and Jasper National Park is key to this position.

This position is based in Jasper, Alberta.
