The Specialist, Consumer Marketing will provide support to the Consumer Marketing team to execute direct-to-consumer tactics that align with Travel Alberta’s global consumer marketing strategy. This position will collaborate and effectively work with all business units to support the execution of multi-channel consumer marketing plans, tactics and initiatives, manage marketing and administrative projects that contribute to the strategic and tactical proficiency of the business unit, play a key role in communicating with internal team members and assist the Managers and Director in marketing Alberta as a must-visit tourism destination to visitors globally. While this position supports programs in all of Travel Alberta’s consumer markets, particular focus will be placed on China.

Reporting to the Director of Business Development, the Business Development Coordinator is responsible for administratively supporting the Travel Trade and Media Teams. This includes coordinating client familiarization tours to Jasper, planning media itineraries and managing Tourism Jasper’s client database. The Coordinator will play a key role in driving Tourism Jasper’s effectiveness as a team. As a relevant and practical resource for Tourism Jasper Shareholders to grow their business, a proactive and detailed oriented approach to business development is required to deliver on Tourism Jasper’s strategic objectives.
Various duties including: sweep, mop, wash and polish floors; dust furniture; vacuum; make beds and change sheets; distribute clean towels and toiletries; stock linen closet; clean, disinfect and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances; attend to guests' requests for extra supplies or other items; and provide basic information on facilities
Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods. Plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies. Inspect kitchens and food service areas. Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food. Order supplies and equipment. Supervise kitchen staff and helpers. Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment. Clean kitchen and work areas. Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
