Canadian Signature Experiences Program

CSE Program overview

The program encompasses the Canadian Signature Experiences (CSE) collection by the Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC). It is co-managed by the CTC and thirteen provincial/territorial marketing organizations (PMOs) across Canada.

Partnering with the CTC gives Alberta an advantage in marketing our authentic experiences to an international audience. Alberta is proud to have 24 Signature Experiences in the CTC’s collection.

What is a Canadian Signature Experience?

A Canadian Signature Experience is a purchasable visitor experience that meets travellers’ desires to venture beyond the beaten tourist paths. It’s an experience that dives deeper into Canada’s natural environment and/or authentic, local culture. It engages visitors in a series of memorable travel activities that are inherently personal, engage the senses, and make connections on an emotional, physical, spiritual, intellectual or social level.

What are the benefits for tourism operators?

The CSE collection helps eligible tourism businesses promote their product internationally. There are also marketing benefits for tourism businesses that are part of the Canadian Signature Experiences collection. The program will give tourism businesses that qualify (based on the program criteria) a chance to reach key international audiences by way of CTC and Travel Alberta marketing, media and trade development initiatives that cover the international markets they invest in.

It also makes it easier for the travel trade to sell more of Canada, and to make more money doing so. Media can utilize the collection to find a rich array of story ideas, media collateral and other resources.

How can I take advantage of this opportunity?

If you are interested in learning more and if you think that your tourism experience is ready for the CSE program, there are a number of steps to take. Here is a brief summary of the steps:
