As Canada celebrated Tourism Week, 115 representatives of 54 tourism organizations from all over Alberta headed east for Rendez-vous Canada 2019 (RVC)—Canada’s premier international tourism marketplace.

They showcased their unique Alberta tourism experiences and services to international buyers, May 28-31 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

Last year, RVC Halifax had record-breaking attendance, attracting over 1,900 qualified travel buyers and Canadian tourism professionals, driving more international travel to all parts of Canada.

For Alberta, RVC is an activator of international business relationships that result in new partnerships and new revenue generation for the province.

The team at Travel Alberta worked in collaboration with provincial partners to help prepare them to make the most of their pre-scheduled, 12-minute appointments with buyers who are promoting Alberta in our key international markets of the USA, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, China and Mexico. They connected in the Alberta Zone, a meeting space reflecting the beauty and diversity of Alberta’s landscape and experiences.

Alberta partners investing in the opportunity this year included Banff & Lake Louise Tourism, Canalta Hotels, Edmonton International Airport, Fort Museum of the North West Mounted Police, Jasper SkyTram, Mahikan Trails, The Calgary Zoo, and TRAXX Coachlines, to name just a handful.

Planning for RVC 2020 is already underway!
