Last week at the Annual Convention in St. Louis, Missouri, Destinations International announced that 31 industry leaders received their Certified Destination Management Executive (CDME) designation.
Alberta was represented with four CDME graduates:
- Shelley Grollmuss, CDME, Travel Alberta
- Anastasia Martin-Stilwell, CDME, Travel Alberta
- Cameron D. Spence, CDME, Travel Alberta
- Renee Williams, CDME, Edmonton Tourism
The Certified Destination Management Executive (CDME) is the tourism industry’s highest individual educational achievement!
The CDME program prepares industry leaders who want to advance their careers by blending theory with experience and application of knowledge to help them thrive in a constantly changing environment. The program focus is on vision, leadership, productivity and implementing business strategies.
The CDME Scholarship Program offered through Travel Alberta provides scholarships to those working for destination marketing organizations (DMOs).
Congratulations to all the 2019 CDME recipients!
Anastasia and Cameron were also speakers at the St.Louis convention, leading a session on differentiating your destination - sharing Travel Alberta's innovative approach to training organizations across Alberta to create immersive and memorable experiences.
