We’re excited to announce that Travel Alberta’s partnership with Destinations International to host Certified Destination Management Executive (CDME) courses in Alberta will continue in 2020.
The CDME program offers the tourism industry’s highest individual educational achievement and focuses on vision, leadership, productivity and the implementation of business strategies.
Travel Alberta is the only provincial marketing organization with an agreement with Destinations International to offer the CDME courses outside of the US.
Travel Alberta initiated the partnership in 2018 and coordinates this training to support the professional development of Alberta’s destination marketing organizations (DMOs), while also offering a cost-effective opportunity for organizations outside of Alberta to take part.
Travel Alberta also invests in the CDME scholarship program to make the training more accessible to those working in our provincial DMOs.
This year’s CDME fall courses take place October 8-11 in Banff. There are 28 registrants for the core course including six Alberta scholars plus representatives from DMOs in Canada and the US. Next year’s courses will be held in April and October. Stay tuned for registration details.
