Travel Alberta one of Canada’s 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures

Travel Alberta was recognized today for having one of the most admired corporate cultures in Canada.  The national program, now in its ninth year, annually recognizes best-in-class Canadian organizations for having a culture that has helped enhance performance and sustain a competitive advantage.

“Culture is the most valuable asset an organization can have,” said Bruce Okabe, Travel Alberta’s Chief Executive Officer. “We are proud of our culture at Travel Alberta and honoured to have it recognized as one of the most admired in Canada.”

Canada’s 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures™ is founded and presented by Waterstone Human Capital, one of Canada's fastest-growing retained executive search firms specializing in recruiting for fit and in cultural assessment. The program assesses organizations in four separate categories: growth, mid-market, enterprise and public sector. Ten organizations across Canada are recognized in each category.

“At Travel Alberta, leadership works hard at building a culture where people are encouraged to bond and build relationships with each other, enhance collaboration and teamwork, live the organization’s values, and deliver great result,” said Heather Connelly, Managing Director, Broader Public Sector at Waterstone. “The on-boarding process was extremely innovative and one of the most comprehensive I have seen, resulting in a great start to ensuring an engaged and passionate work force that meets and exceeds organizational targets.”

Travel Alberta has an outstanding team of committed and motivated Team Members who bring skill, experience, energy and knowledge to the work that they do. Based across Alberta and with offices in key overseas markets, Travel Alberta Team Members are committed to growing tourism revenues for the province. The company-wide culture that guides Travel Alberta is built on the principles of trust, respect, collaboration and integrity.

This recognition marks the second top employer award for Travel Alberta since becoming a Crown corporation in 2009. Earlier this month Travel Alberta was named among the Best 50 Small and Medium Employers in Canada. Ranking 32nd in the list, Travel Alberta was cited as a national leader for its performance-planning process.
