FMAA President and CEO Scott Clements visited the airport this past weekend to assess the damage to the facilities.  “I am pleased to share that there has been no damage to the main terminal building or the north terminal building,” noted Clements. “While there has been some damage to several structures on the north side of the airport, YMM remains fully operational for emergency operations.”

As of today, the Fort McMurray International Airport (YMM) continues to operate as key transportation infrastructure for emergency operations and the transportation of food and supplies for first responders. A timeline for the return of commercial air traffic to Fort McMurray International Airport, has not yet been established, however, the FMAA can confirm that this will not occur until re-entry to Fort McMurray is permitted.

As the evacuation order remains in place individuals who left their vehicles at the airport will not be able to claim them until further notice. However, parking fees for the duration of the evacuation will be waived.
