Three Alberta Events Make ABA’s Top 100

The American Bus Association (ABA) has announced its annual Top 100 Events in North America list with the Calgary Stampede leading the pack as the 2013 Top Event in Canada.

With annual attendance of more than 1.3 million, the Calgary Stampede has always been one of Alberta’s signature tourism attractions for regional, national and international visitors. The announcement follows the Calgary Stampede’s Centennial Celebration in July 2012, a record breaking year for the event.

Other Alberta events to make the ABA’s Top 100 include Calgary’s GlobalFest and the Lake Louise Ice Magic Festival; highlighting the fact that Alberta has great events in both summer and winter seasons.
Now in its 31st year, the 2013 Top 100 Events in North America is published as a guide for travel professionals and the general public to use when planning group tours and vacations.

Each spring, the Top 100 selection committee, comprised of group travel professionals, selects the winners from among hundreds of nominated fairs, festivals, parades, exhibits, theaters and shows based on their broad appeal and accessibility to large groups arriving by motorcoach.
